AMETEK Power Instruments’ newly manufactured and OEM qualified specification designed for the GE Frame Turbine class is now complete. The product family has a wide range of variations that are designed to meet your turbine requirements and keep them operating even during the harshest conditions. Available in three main variations ranging from flying leads, connector or thermocouple/cable configuration.
The 402A1614 Thermocouples are made of an armored and shielded extension cable. The connectorized version is made with a hermetically sealed and environmentally tested range to 260°C. Other versions of the thermocouple mimic the original Wheelspace design where the MI-cable is one continuous piece that is paired with a transition tube, sealed and connected to the flying leads extension wire to allow users to tie into their control system. The connectorized thermocouple and cable configuration allow for easy installation and swap out during any type of forced or planned outage. Thus, allowing users to keep their turbine running at peak performance. Required to be 0.75% or ±2.2°C, AMETEK uses special limits wire, 0.4% or ±1.1°C for tighter, more accurate tolerance and improved turbine efficiency.
AMETEK thermocouples use an 1/8” sheath material made up of 321SST with a 2-conductor type K junction packed with MgO powder. It comes in either flying leads or mated with a hermetically sealed connector rated up to 260°C allows for quick connection and reduced downtime in case of a field failure. With time response requirements of 0.65-1.3s, AMETEK thermocouples are ~50% faster than what is required (0.21-0.68s). Manufactured and tested on base and peak load operation, our thermocouples meet the requirements ASTM E608, E585 & E839.
