AMETEK Power Instruments' GEN2++ EGT thermocouple is the latest advancement in technology and durability to help support users around the globe. The new and improved "pencil tip" design provides a faster response time and addresses the on-going vibration issues for larger turbines.
We understand how critical it is to keep your turbine running at optimal conditions, which is why our GEN2++ has been engineered and tested to meet OEM specifications to eliminate equipment failure. The GEN2++ was designed directly with the OEM and tested to the most extreme vibration and thermal conditions to ensure your turbine will maintain operation even in the harshest conditions.
GEN2++ thermocouples are made from a solid, continuous single piece sheath design, using an IN625 and 2-conductor type K junction. Its hermetically sealed connector is rated up to 260°C which is connected to its seamless shaft design isolating itself from any environmental effects that could degrade the thermocouple. Manufactured and tested on base and peak load operation, our thermocouples meet the requirements ASTM E608 and E585 with an accuracy of 1.1°C or 0.04%. A radiation shield fitting is integrated into the thermocouple's configuration to ensure tip insertion into the exhaust path is the same every time. This removes human error from installing the fitting incorrectly or crimping too tightly that it penetrates the protective oversheath and exposes it to premature failure.
